CLEP and DANTES Exam Preparation

Both CLEP and DANTES offer test preparation materials designed to assist in exam preparation. The items listed below are official test preparation resources produced by CLEP and DANTES. Please be aware that other organizations market test preparation materials. While you are free to use any resource, we recommend that you use only the materials produced by CLEP and DANTES.

We maintain listings of exam preparation documents found at local libraries in the PLA Center. Please inquire about the availability of these documents. If you live outside the metropolitan Kansas City area, you may use the interlibrary loan program through the Baker University library to obtain resources.

Keep in mind that only you can assess your readiness to take an examination. Preparation time varies widely from one individual to another and it is dependent on a number of factors.

CLEP Study Resources

You may download individual CLEP exam descriptions.

Official Study Guide for CLEP examinations contains descriptions of all CLEP exams, test-taking strategies and sample questions. Students may purchase the guide directly from CLEP or a local bookstore. Cost is $25.00.

You may download individual subject study guides from the CLEP PREP CENTER. Cost is $10.00 each.

DANTES Study Resources

Fact Sheets for each exam outline the topics covered by the test and includes a list of sample questions and a list of recommended references.

The Official DSST Test Preparation Guide covers the most popular DANTES exams. The guide is available for $15.96. For more information go to: http://www.petersons.com/books/DSST.asp.
