Graduation Requirements
- Successful completion of at least 124 credit
hours
- Successful completion of the specified Bachelor
of Business Administration core program and all other course taken
through Baker University
- Cumulative GPA must be a minimum of 2.5
- Satisfaction of the 30 credit hours of general
education requirements in arts and humanities, social science, or an
earned Associate degree or an Associate of Art degree from a regionally
accredited institution
- Satisfaction of the 9 credit hour general
education requirement in math, written English, and computer science
- Payment of all tuition and fees
- Approval by the faculty

Course
Descriptions
Based upon
reasonable projections of faculty availability and appropriate curriculum considerations,
the following courses can change as deemed necessary by Baker University to
fulfill its role and mission. Approximately 18 months are required to fulfill
the core program requirements. Courses must be completed in the order recommended
by the University.
BBA 342 – Introduction to Management
Concepts
This course is an introductory course for adult students pursuing an
undergraduate degree. Topics include program planning, group interaction,
written and oral communication skills, time management, personality inventory,
and other items. A degree completion plan must be finalized prior
to enrollment in any other course work. (2 credits)
BBA 351 – Management and Leadership
This course is a study of management and leadership techniques and their
applications for improving organizational effectiveness. Students are
involved in the study of general principles of management as well as
their application through projects and case studies. (3 credits)
BBA 446 – Project Planning for
Managers
In this course, students are provided with the laptop computer to be
used throughout the program. This course introduces the concepts
and procedures that are essential in project-centered organizations. Techniques
are presented for team development and conflict resolution, and students
use industry-leading software to enhance the project management process,
including task assignment, project control, scheduling, and budgeting.

BBA 373 – Accounting for Business
This course goes beyond the mechanics of financial accounting to provide
a more advanced understanding of accounting practices. It incorporates
financial and managerial accounting concepts, including statements
of cash flows, internal controls, budgeting for planning and control,
cost accounting systems, and break-even analysis. (3 credits)
BBA 482 – Principles of Marketing
The basic concepts of marketing such as consumer behavior, product distribution,
promotion and price planning, and marketing research are examined with
emphasis on marketing decision making. International marketing and
marketing for non-profit organizations are introduced. (3 credits)
BBA 484- Finance, Capital, and Management
This course develops the basic financial skills used in decision making
within the business organization for long-term financing, capital budgeting,
working capital management, and related areas. (4 credits)
BBA 310 – Prior Learning and Writing
Development
This course is designed to assist students in completing a Prior Learning
Assessment Portfolio while improving writing skills. It introduces students
to Kolb’s Model and aids them in identifying and evaluating their
individual learning experiences and outcomes. The course also includes
a life learning self-assessment. (Satisfies written English requirement)

BBA 311 – Technology in the Workplace
This course presents the many forms of information systems that provide
data to contemporary organizations, including databases, the Internet,
and decision support systems. The course reviews system design,
infrastructure, security, and electronic commerce. (Satisfies computer
science requirement) (3 credits)
BBA 382 – Principles of Economics
This course presents the basic principles and concepts of economics including
cost, supply and demand, elasticity, costs and benefits, GDP, inflation,
fiscal and monetary policy, and international trade. These principles
are studied with emphasis on how they influence business decisions.
(4 credits)
BBA 353 – Organizational Structure
and Behavior
This course studies organizational theory and its applications. Theories
of organizational structure, organizational behavior, and the interaction
between the two are studied and applied. (3 credits)
BBA 371 – Data Development and
Analysis
This course is a study of research methodology including problem statement,
research design, data collection, hypothesis statements, and policy conclusions.
The course includes descriptive statistics, probability distributions,
hypothesis testing, regression, and correlation analysis. (Satisfies
math requirement) (4 credits)
BBA 352 – Business Law and Government
Regulation
This course examines the formation and application of common law, the
Uniform Commercial Code, and administrative agency law in relation to
the business organization. (3 credits)
BBA 455 – Business Policy Analysis
This course examines contemporary policy issues facing the business professional
and integrates the various disciplines encountered in the program.
Emphasis is on the development of the ability to evaluate alternatives
and construct an effective policy statement. This must be the last
course completed in the BBA degree program. (3 credits)
